AI voice agents
AI Voice Agents for Businesses
A voice agent answers your phone, holds a real conversation, and finishes the task — booking, qualifying, transferring, following up. Here is what they can do, who they suit, and where we specialise.
What a voice agent can actually do
- Answer inbound calls instantly, with no queue and no limit on simultaneous callers.
- Hold a natural back-and-forth conversation instead of forcing a phone menu.
- Qualify a caller against rules you define, and prioritise urgent ones.
- Read live availability and book appointments into your calendar.
- Look up an order, an account, or a job status mid-call.
- Transfer to a person, with context, when the call needs one.
- Place outbound calls: follow-ups, reminders, and new-lead callbacks.
- Send an SMS or email summary the moment the call ends.
- Log every call with a recording and a transcript.
Industries this fits
Voice agents earn their keep wherever the phone drives revenue and the team answering it is also doing the work.
- HVAC — our specialty, and the deepest build we offer.
- Plumbing, electrical, roofing, and other emergency trades.
- Garage door, pest control, appliance repair, and residential cleaning.
- Property management and maintenance teams.
- Clinics, dental practices, and other appointment-driven offices.
- Any business where the owner is on a job while the phone is ringing.
Common use cases
- After-hours coverage — replacing an answering service or a voicemail box.
- Overflow — catching every caller when all your lines ring at once.
- Speed to lead — calling a new web lead back within a minute.
- Appointment setting and rescheduling.
- Emergency triage and on-call escalation.
- Front-line FAQ: hours, pricing, service area, what to expect from a visit.
Why we build HVAC first
A generic voice agent knows nothing about your trade. An HVAC caller says "it's blowing warm" or "the furnace is short cycling" and expects the person on the phone to know what that means, how urgent it is, and what it costs to look at. That knowledge is the difference between a booked job and a message.
We build for HVAC every week, so the triage logic, the emergency rules, the service-area handling and the seasonal call patterns are already solved. If you run an HVAC company, start on the AI receptionist for HVAC companies page.

Voice agent FAQ
- How does an AI voice agent work?
- A caller dials your number and the call is routed to the agent. It converts speech to text in real time, decides what to say using instructions and knowledge you provide, and speaks back in a natural voice — typically within a fraction of a second. When it needs to do something, such as check a calendar or create a booking, it calls your systems directly during the conversation.
- Is a voice agent the same as an IVR phone menu?
- No. An IVR makes the caller navigate a menu. A voice agent has a conversation: the caller explains the problem in their own words and the agent responds, asks follow-up questions, and completes the task.
- What can it connect to?
- Calendars, scheduling and dispatch software, CRMs, spreadsheets, and any system with an API or webhook. It can also send SMS follow-ups and route call summaries to your inbox or team chat.
- Is AI safe for customer calls?
- When it is scoped properly, yes. Set the boundaries — what it can quote, what it must never promise, when it must hand off to a person — and it stays inside them. Calls are recorded and transcribed so nothing about how your phone is handled is hidden from you.
- What does an AI voice agent cost?
- It depends on call volume, how many hours you want covered, and how deep the integrations go. We quote after a short call rather than publishing a flat rate, because a 24/7 emergency line and a weekday overflow line are very different builds.
